Biography

Dr. Marcus Gonzales earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2006. He then completed an ocular disease residency at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic (formerly Bridge Builders) in Dallas, Texas. Currently, Dr. Gonzales serves as the Clinic Director of an inner-city charity clinic, where he provides comprehensive eye care to underserved communities, with a focus on managing complex eye conditions like glaucoma and retinal disease.

In 2025, the Texas Optometric Association honored Dr. Gonzales with the Optometrist of the Year award, recognizing his exceptional dedication to the field and his commitment to serving others. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has previously received the Texas Optometric Association's Educator of the Year award (2009) and President's Award (2011). 

Dr. Gonzales's professional passion lies in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, particularly glaucoma and retinal conditions.
