Biography

Dr. Guoting Qin is a research associate professor in the Vision Sciences Department at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Houston.

Dr. Qin’s research focuses on understanding what keeps the eye functioning in a healthy state and what happens when those systems are disrupted by stress or disease. Her work applies advanced analytical approaches, including crosslinking mass spectrometry, proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and glycomics, to map the ocular surface at the molecular level. This research provides deeper insight into the biological processes that protect vision and informs the development of more precise strategies to diagnose, monitor, and treat eye conditions.
