The Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) has granted the University of Houston College of Optometry the accreditation status of "Accredited." Accredited is a classification granted to an educational program indicating that the program generally meets the Standards for accreditation. For more information, see the ACOE's website at www.theACOE.org or contact the ACOE at accredit@theacoe.org.

The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO), an organization representing all accredited schools and colleges of optometry in the 50 states and Puerto Rico, does not rank or endorse any ranking of the accredited schools and colleges of optometry in the 50 States, Puerto Rico and Canada. In addition, they do not provide information or data to any entity claiming to rank optometry programs or participate in any other way with such entities.

All optometry professional program applicants are urged to make their own determinations regarding the suitability of a particular program including visiting official college websites and gathering information regarding applicant profiles, class size, prerequisite courses, NBEO pass rates, faculty-student ratios, pre-clinical and clinical training and other information.

Accurate data provided directly to ASCO from the accredited programs it serves can be found at https://optometriceducation.org/.
