One of the earliest endowed gifts to Optometry Cares – The AOA Foundation was a scholarship fund established through a bequest from the late Seymour Galina, O.D., long-time AOA member.
- Be a third-year student member (class of 2019) of the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA) and the AOA;
- Be a student in good academic standing based on your school’s criteria;
- Submit a written paper (in English), not to exceed 1,500 characters including spaces and addresses questions below.
Topic to Address:
- Qualities I have developed through my financial planning/work experience during and/or before optometry school, that I believe will be most useful to me in a professional optometric practice.
Each school and college will choose one candidate from all applications received by their on-campus deadline. Each school must forward the individual’s name and essay to Optometry Cares® in St. Louis. The winner will be announced in January 2018.
