Foundation for Education and Research in Vision Presidential Endowed Scholarhsip

Established in 1955, the Foundation for Education and Research in Vision (FERV) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for others. FERV accomplishes its mission by promoting and advancing education and research in the field of human vision, publishing and disseminating pertinent information to the general public concerning vision needs and care, encouraging and fostering the study and learning of human vision and related fields and by providing much needed resources to initiatives that includes student scholarships, innovative research, state-of-the-art equipment and short term loans. 

Criteria:

  • This scholarship is to fund an incoming OPT I student in the College of Optometry 
  • Renewable for up to 8 semesters
  • Recipient must maintain a 3.3 GPA and OAT score of 330. 
  • Criteria based on academic excellence, leadership and involvement in community and school activities. 
  • Recipient must be in good academic standing and meet UHCO eligibility requirements. 
  • Selection is made by the College of Optometry Scholarship Committee.
