Dr. Jack and Donna Bridwell Scholarship Endowment

This endowment was created in honor or former UHCO faculty member, Dr. Jack Bridwell, who served as Chair of the Bridwell Gold Tournament for the years that it existed. Jack's wife, Donna Bridwell, served as an official ambassador to the tournament. This endowment, renamed the Dr. Jack and Donna Bridwell Scholarship Endowment, honors their legacy and unwavering commitment to UHCO and the optometric profession. This scholarship is to fund a full-time or incoming OPT student at the College of Optometry. 

Criteria:

  • Recipient is a full-time degree-seeking student in good standing at the University of Houston College of Optometry OR an applicant that has been accepted by the UHCO Admissions Committee.
  • Applicant will have a minimum GP A and/or OAT score as mandated by the UHCO Scholarship Committee.
  • Recipient can use the funds to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the upcoming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.
  • Recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with the Dr. Jack and Donna Bridwell Scholarship Endowment.
