I just returned from out of town, and received the HeadSpot. I tried it and it seems very good, professionally done, smooth. Thanks so much; I have been looking for such thing for a long while as you know.

Zili

It arrived last week, but I was so excited about it that I forgot to mail you :) I've already done a couple of experiments and it works very well.

Jukka

I just got it today. Thanks a lot. The HeadSpot seems great for my use.

Marisa

You probably know this already: you have a great shop! I spent several weeks looking for a chin rest before coming across the one offered by UH Optometry. It's a beauty.

Steve

We received the chin rest. It is truly well-designed. What a major step-up from the (very) old Bausch and Lomb system that we have been using. It will be a snap to hang our camera off of it.
The new chin rest has met our fondest expectations.

Thanks again.
Lawrence

The HeadSpots arrived today. They look like they will fill the bill admirably. The comment from the user to be was "they look sturdy."
Thanks for a good job.

Regards,
Trevor

The HeadSpot has arrived. It is a finely crafted piece, which is something I really value.

Best regards,
Allan

I just received your two babies. They are in good shape, although they already miss Texas. I sincerely appreciate the swiftness of our deal and really enjoyed working with you.
Cheers,
Pascal

The HeadSpot arrived while I was away last week. I set it up this morning and it looks nice (sleek, sturdy, and reasonably comfortable.) I appreciate the work that went into designing it and am very glad you put it on the market.

Thanks,
Mary

I'm a lecturer at the University. A couple of years ago, I purchased two HeadSpot chinrests from you, and they are fabulous! Our department has now grown and I was wondering whether you are still making these chinrests. We would be interested in buying another three.
The three HeadSpots arrived some weeks ago and are already in use. Everybody thinks they are marvellous. Thanks a lot.

Martin

November last year we bought the HeadSpot from you. We are very satisfied with it. However, yesterday one of the knobs just broke off. I don't know if we have any guarantee, but is it possible that you send us a new one?

Fred

Certainly we'll be happy to provide a replacement knob.
Chris
[And so we did]

For the last few months I've been using a HeadSpot Chin rest that I purchased from UHCO. Recently, the screw that attaches the chin rest to the vertical mount has become loose on the right side. The screw is not stripped, but the "little gold-colored" bearing appears to be the problem. Presently, the chin rest stays in place only by the screw on the intact side of the device. Do you have any suggestions for how to stabilize this? I'd rather not have to buy an entire new assemblage...do you sell the chin pieces separately? Many thanks for any information you can share.

Sincerely,
Nestor

The function of the 'little gold-colored button' is twofold: first, it protects the anodized post from being cut by the end of the screw. Second, it makes the screw functionally just a bit longer, as it is a bit short without that. I suspect that you may have lost the button on that one side. If that's the case, then just cut a 1/4" long piece of 3/16" brass rod. That's what the thing is, anyway. If you can't do that, then we can send you a replacement. They are easy to lose when the unit's undone.
Chris
[And we did it once more]

I very much appreciate the support that you offer for the HeadSpot head rest; Overall, it is a great device! I look forward to receiving the small replacement parts.

Thanks again,
Nestor

I will refer all my fellow vision researchers to your site if they are in need of a headrest. Your product is by far the most bang for the buck. My friends and I have been shopping around, and 1) it is hard to find a headrest and 2) they are all very, very expensive. Thank you for all of your help.

Sincerely,
John

Just looked at your list of satisfied customers. Looks like you'd have to really think hard to identify an active vision researcher who was not on the list. Clearly, I'm disgraced by not being on the list. Therefore, to lift the cloud on my reputation, I've asked [the University] to buy me a trio of the things. You'll get the order soon. Then, maybe, I can hold my head high again at meetings.

The HeadSpot is now in the lab. Wonderful device!! It's not uncomfortable!! I think that's the best we can do with chinrests. It's amazingly light for the size, yet feels nice and solid when mounted. Excellent item.

Cheers,
Andy

The HeadSpot has already arrived on Tuesday (I wasn't in the lab the last two days.) Thanks a lot for the ultra-quick delivery ;-) ! The chin rest is a great piece of work; I'm really happy that I found your website. It was a pleasure to do business with you!

Cheers,
Axel

The HeadSpot looks great, but I haven't actually used it yet in research. We will be in a couple of weeks, though, and I can tell just from looking at it that it will work fine and will last. It's built very well.
So thanks and regards,

Tracy

The equipment has arrived - everything looks great! We assembled and mounted the optics; it is a very professional setup and should work nicely in our application. Thanks for the first-rate experience of this purchasing process. You have another satisfied customer to add to your list!

Sincerely,
Patrick

Chris:
Thanks for prompt response. Here's the story. We have two very good, AO chin-rests/head supports. To save a few bucks, three or four years ago I bought a Richmond cheapie. Damn thing broke --literally, broke-- during its very first use. Normal movement by the subject's head while getting into the device split the thing in two. Put it aside and never bothered again with it until a few weeks ago, when we ramped up "production" and needed a chin rest in another location. I asked Richmond to repair the thing, which they tried to do. Received the chin rest back three days ago, and the same damn thing happened again ---it broke in two. So, figuring enough is enough, I went to Denis Pelli's Psychophysics Toolbox, which I remembered had some reviews. That's when I discovered the Headspot, which looks pretty darn good. And I know the optometry folks in Houston are pretty fussy about such things. I'm working on the order today.

Here is a testimonial for your website about how delicious the headspot is. This chinrest is a superior design for use in vision science experiments. Virtually every aspect of it is adjustable, from the forehead and chinrest height to the depth of the chinrest. Its versatility enables the user to accommodate all different types of subjects from children to adults. All of the Headspot pieces are incredibly sturdy with strong locking mechanisms, so even inadvertent impacts to the experimental set-up will not affect the placement of the parts. All the pieces come in the same optical black color, which not only gives the unit a clean, attractive appearance for subjects, but serves a functional purpose in eliminating the possibility for any reflections off of the Headspot when imaging with bright light sources. Perhaps even more importantly, the design and materials of this chinrest make it comfortable for the subject. Having spent many hours as a subject myself, I can relate to the importance of good equipment reducing the fatigue of the participant. The Headspot is an indispensable addition to any vison science laboratory.
